The reason for this letter is so that our neighborhood knows how some people had enjoyed their Mother's Day Holiday. We were about to enjoy our Sunday Dinner when we noticed several emergency vehicles parked outside of our home. Firemen ,Police, Paramedics, Board of Ed. Police as well as others, all who were trying to figure out how to gain access to the center lowest level of our greenway, so that they could take care of an emergency situation involving a few individuals who were riding their dirt bikes, down in the valley, and had a wreck. after blocking the entrance at the end of Timberland st, some still seek the thrill of sneaking in and riding at the risk of hurting themselves and others ,because of their inexperince, and not knowing what the other drivers are doing, as well as not navigating the terrain and surrounding hills before speeding away. So luckily the injured person was taken away on a gurney by the Paramedics to the emergency room, on Mother's Day.The only access to this area is from that location and now that this incident has occured the Police and other Authorities are monitoring the area.
If the city would give us funding for the area we could revitalize this area into a great asset for our neighborhood. the steam was running down several slopes then underground, only to surface again before going down under the patway. the trails , paths that are made by nature only need our attention to keep them clear. we could add some log steps for some steep slopes and a few places to sit and enjoy the natural habitat, that welcomes all living things. So in the future please be carefull not to create an emergecy situation that could be avoided with a little precautions and check out the area prior to utilizing it. I noticed that someone has been dumping in the same area as where the accident happened. it looked as though someone had brought all their debris from a bathroom remodeling job and dumped it in our greenway and may have been one of the reasons for the accident. their are several plastic bags as well as tile , wood and plaster just thrown about 100 ft. up from the timberland st. jersey barrier. For all the time and energy it took to drag that garbage and dump it in our greenway. You could have put it out for garbage collection, just shows the disregaurd that someone has for this area ,and our neighbors.
Start Thinking, we fought city hall to stop this from becoming a dump. With this type of disrespect to all of us is unexceptable and if the culprit is spotted, they will be made an examble of.

    dear residents,
As summer is rolling in on us,so are all the things that come along with all the nice weather as well as opportunities to do things that are abstained from from the hibernation of the winter months.
we have had an increased police presence in our parks and trail areas as well as our neighborhood schools . the reason for this is to try and persuade the negative aspects of the vandalism, littering and just destroying the new and old plantings, trails, and the new landscpings that were donated to our schools to get our children involved in a positive attitude toward the things that God has put here for us to enjoy. maintainig these areas is very costly and labor intence, so while you are walking and see a weed or somthing out of place ,pitch in and help us by pulling the weeds or an invasive vine, etc.
the fruits and berries are plentiful all through the ares for all to enjoy and watch the wildlife graze.so come out and enjoy a walk thru the last major piece of land that has not been destroyed, but needs our attn. to help maintain and groom it, so that we will be able to enjoy for decades to come.If the city would allocate funding and help us to better preserve and add flower beds, steps , as well connecting the different tiers to eachother all with natural trees, rocks and mulch all the dead overgrowth and fallen trees that have been here for some time but increased substantially after this winter and spring storms, that we can't get enough man pwer without the help of shredders , mulchers and a bobcat to drag the things to designated areas for THEIR DECOMPOSITION.
we will never get this under control without the help of machines,so that will be our next requisition. we are still waiting on various other things that were promised from Mayor Murphy and staff a few years back.
but we need these machines to get rid of the fallen debris and invasive species that are destroying our greenways growth.
    thank You,
    Kevin
